Description
I once traveled to Coober Pedy, Australia, where I met two old miners who took me on an opal-hunting adventure. This rough stone has always been part of the chamber’s hand-picked collection.
Over the years, I finally gathered the tools and was able to shape the stone into a small gem. Since I planned to set it in silver myself, I didn’t try to cut it into a standard size. Instead, I chose to preserve as much of the stone’s natural color and shape as possible. I’ve always loved the raw form of rough stones.
After polishing it, I melted a bunch of used silver pieces and let them flow together naturally. I set the stone in claws and added a chain to the piece.
This unplanned creation became No.002 of my chamber collection. I simply followed whatever inspiration came to mind and flowed with it — leaving it rough yet exquisite, staying true to the stone itself, just like a uniquely unshaped soul.
